Illuminated Concepts 7-8 March 2025 Harrells, NC
Illuminated Concepts is a white light focused pistol and carbine program. The class will hone the individuals marksmanship, manual of arms, and movement while providing training and education on the use of weapon mounted and handheld lights. The class focuses on practical use of both firearms and lighting techniques, to include searching and controlling of a subject with white light.
Each day will include some daytime training before a short evening break and roughly four hours of training at night. Each day will conclude no later than 10pm, with a start time around 2pm (start time will be updated in final coordination email one week prior to class convene date).
Day 1 will be a handgun focus. We will conduct drills to hone the students’ fundamentals and manual of arms. Despite the daytime we will begin to discuss use of white light tools and incorporate them into drills to prepare for the night portion. The daytime portion will end with some basic movement drills. After the evening break for dinner, the students will conduct white light drills to work on presentation of pistols and lights, a class on photonic barriers, and then drills where students will have to defeat barriers in order to find, ID, and engage their targets. Once the live fire portion of the night is complete, we will cover concepts for using lights in searching and how to control subjects with white light.
Day 2 will be much of the same, albeit with your rifle/ carbine. Rather than covering photonic barriers, searching, and subject control again the students will find the distance limitations of their lights to engage targets out to 100 yards and beyond, as able.
Illuminated Concepts is an excellent class for anyone who is newer to use of white light, or is seeking further education on the subject. The drills and progression of the program will benefit both new and experienced shooters and users of “weaponized” lighting tools.
